All branches: Important Public Notice!!! Chinook Regional Library - Disruption of Holds Service After August 15th, the Chinook Regional Library will not accept holds (requests for books) for approximately 6 weeks. This disruption in service is an unfortunate but necessary preparation for our upcoming change-over to the new provincial Single Integrated Library System (SILS) catalog. Patrons will not be able to place a hold in the Horizon catalog, request books through our headquarters location, or at any branch library. Holds service will be resumed in the new SILS library catalog September 29th. * All holds placed before August 15th will be filled * Requests for new purchases will still be accepted We apologize for this inconvenience |

We’re pretty busy here at Chinook getting ready for a whole new rodeo. This fall, our branches will become your link to 21st century library service. We’ll be offering you a new catalogue with enhanced features. Your library card will stand for: Convenient access
-You’ll be able to search and request public library materials from anywhere in the province -Access to the catalogue 24/7 from any computer that has Internet access -Materials will be delivered to your preferred library branch (closest to where you live or work)
Easier use -You’ll experience a much more patron-friendly catalogue displaying the front covers of materials – just like you would see on Amazon.ca or Chapters.ca -You’ll be able to read and contribute reviews and ratings of materials
Awesome features -A special catalogue for children’s materials -Overdue notices by email, optional e-mail pre-notification of items coming due -Ability for each patron to choose if they want to maintain a “books read” history -Access the catalogue from your smart phone -Freeze holds if you’re away on holidays |
